To Do Flowers & Weddings

Brand photography is not simply about showing what you do. It should communicate what it feels like to work with you. For this brand photography shoot with To Do Flowers & Weddings, Dominique and I wanted to capture more than beautiful flowers and professional portraits. The photographs needed to introduce the person behind the business, reflect the atmosphere Dominique creates and show how she supports couples throughout the preparations for their wedding.

The result is a warm and versatile collection of brand images in which her spontaneous personality, creativity and professional approach come together.

More than wedding flowers

Dominique is the founder of To Do Flowers & Weddings. As a wedding florist, wedding planner and master of ceremonies, she supports couples with both the creative and organisational aspects of their wedding. From designing bridal bouquets and floral styling to creating timelines, coordinating suppliers and overseeing the wedding day, her services all share the same purpose: allowing couples to enjoy the experience without having to manage every practical detail themselves. That sense of reassurance and support became one of the main starting points for the shoot.

The photographs needed to show the variety of Dominique’s work, but they also needed to communicate trust. The feeling that there is someone by your side who thinks ahead, keeps an overview and takes care of the details, allowing you to remain present throughout the preparations and on the wedding day itself.

Spontaneous brand photography that feels like Dominique

When you meet Dominique, you immediately notice her open, spontaneous and welcoming personality. She brings a positive energy to the process, enjoys thinking along with her clients and combines a professional way of working with warm, personal contact. It was important that this combination remained visible in the photographs.

A branding shoot can easily become centred around polished portraits and perfectly styled scenes. While these photographs are valuable, a complete visual brand story also needs to reveal the personality behind the business. That is why I did not only photograph an entrepreneur looking directly into the camera. I also capture movement, working moments and the smaller details in between: a spontaneous laugh, hands arranging flowers, a thoughtful moment while planning or the energy with which someone brings an idea to life. This creates brand photography that feels professional and refined, without becoming distant, overly posed or disconnected from the person behind the brand.

Translating a brand story into a visual concept

My process begins before the actual photoshoot. Rather than immediately creating a list of photographs, I first look at the wider story behind the business. Who do you want to reach? Which services need to be highlighted? What should a potential client feel when they visit your website or social media channels? And what makes your way of working different from other businesses within your industry?

For To Do Flowers & Weddings, several important brand values became clear: personal, creative, spontaneous, supportive, organised and reassuring. These values formed the foundation of the visual concept. From there, I considered which situations, compositions and details we needed to photograph in order to communicate those qualities. The shoot was not built around a rigid list of poses.

Instead, we created a visual story in which the different sides of Dominique and her business could naturally come together. By combining personal portraits, working images, and close-up details, the final gallery shows not only who Dominique is, but also what she does and why her approach is so valuable to the couples she works with.

A brand photoshoot without uncomfortable posing

Many entrepreneurs feel completely confident when talking about their work, but less comfortable when they suddenly find themselves in front of a camera. My approach to brand photography is therefore personal, relaxed and clearly guided. Instead of placing someone in a static pose and expecting them to know what to do, I work with movement, small actions and situations that feel connected to their real work.

I provide clear direction throughout the shoot, while also leaving room for spontaneous moments to unfold. This means you do not need to think about where to place your hands, how to stand or what expression to make. Together, we create situations in which you can work, move, talk or demonstrate part of your process. This usually feels much more natural than continuously posing for the camera.

For Dominique, this meant that her warm and sociable personality did not have to be communicated through one traditional portrait. It became visible in the moments when she was creating, explaining, laughing and sharing her process. The photographs allow potential clients to discover her services while also getting an initial sense of the person they would be working with.

Creating images for the complete customer journey

A strategic branding shoot should result in more than a few new profile photographs. When preparing a shoot, I consider all the different places where the images may be used. This can include a homepage, about page and service pages, as well as blog articles, press publications, brochures, Instagram, LinkedIn and other marketing materials.

I therefore consciously photograph a variety of compositions, orientations and levels of detail. This includes strong personal portraits, horizontal images for website banners, vertical content for social media and photographs with sufficient negative space for headlines or graphic design. For To Do Flowers & Weddings, this resulted in a cohesive image library that Dominique can use to communicate her work as a florist, wedding planner and master of ceremonies, as well as her role as a trusted and personal point of contact for couples. Although every image can be used for a different purpose, the complete gallery remains recognisable as one consistent visual world.

Brand photography for wedding professionals and creative entrepreneurs

When you work as a wedding planner, florist, stylist, wedding supplier or creative entrepreneur, your personality is often an important part of a client’s decision. Especially within the wedding industry, people are not only choosing a particular style or service. They are also choosing someone they feel comfortable with and can trust with an important part of their day.

Strategic brand photography should therefore communicate more than the services you offer. It should also show how you work, which atmosphere you create and why your ideal clients will feel supported by you. Based on your brand story, we create a personal branding shoot that feels authentic while remaining strategically useful for your website, social media and wider marketing. The result is not simply a collection of attractive photographs, but a complete and purposeful image library that supports your message, strengthens your visual identity and builds trust with the people you want to reach.
